An important message from the Chairman

Greetings, and thanks for visiting our web site.

We are happy to share with you some of the exciting developments in South Carolina regarding higher education opportunities for intellectually disabled young adults. The University of South Carolina, Clemson and Coastal Carolina have been awarded grants to develop what we believe will be a model for the rest of the country in post secondary education. I invite you visit the links for each school and see for yourself the models they are creating. I think you will be thrilled to see what’s happening.

Over the last two legislative sessions the general assembly has awarded CTC funding to help our Colleges create sustainable programs for this large segment of our society that until now has lacked the opportunity to continue their education in a college environment.

Unfortunately, the economy has created some uncertainty with regard for future funding. The state is projecting a significant shortage in this year’s budget and in the forseeable future. As a result we have been asked to return part of our funding for next year. We have done a good job living on a budget but are concerned about what may happen next.

WE NEED YOUR HELP!

Please consider a donation to CTC so we can continue helping South Carolina’s colleges create programs for our young adults with intellecual disablities. We are a 501-c3 non-profit organization. We are most appreciative of any consideration.
